My Review

Christmastime can always be so hectic and it's so easy to lose focus on what is most important. Sometimes we may just feel bogged down with a huge to-do list and need something to inspire us, give us an idea of something we can change, or something to do to liven Christmas back up and to more fully warm our hearts. Candy Canes and Christmastime is a fabulous resource to help us do all of those things. There were many sweet experiences shared along with fun ideas and some yummy recipes.

I absolutely loved all the different stories shared from other women about Christmastime. I loved the scripture advent calendar, all the different recipes, the ideas for Christmas cards and gifts, and the "12 Days of Christmas Tower" that would be so much fun. I also loved the "12 Days After Christmas" that had ideas of things to do after Christmas and before the kids go back to school. This book will be fun to revisit during December to ground me and remind me of the more spiritual side of the holiday. It will also provide a few new traditions to start or things to add to the season. I also think it would make a great gift.

  3. Thanks, Sofia! I actually don't normally take nominations. I just don't have the extra time, but I'll take a look.

  5. I would definitely at least read the third book, which will enhance how you view the characters in this one, if you can. I did love it!

  6. I love her books! Have you read any of hers before?

  7. Yes, indeed I have; two I believe. To be honest, they're not my favorites. Her writing is excellent and I liked 'Gatehouse' better than 'Dancing Master,' but I think its just not my kind of genre, maybe!? Anyone, I am definitely curious about this one, so am excited to give the book a chance. :)

  8. You should try The Maid of Fairbourne Hall. That is my favorite of hers. Dancing Master was meh for me. I did like Gatehouse. I have high expectations for this one. I'm hoping I'll like it as much as Fairbourne. Have you read Julianne Donaldson's books? She's historical romance (clean) and they're really, really good. If you've given up on the genre, I would still try those.
