A debut novel from Wattpad award-winner Kara Terzis, Frayed is a psychological whodunit that will keep you guessing!

What I hope will really make you feel at home is the fact that all is not perfect in Shelter Valley. Just like anywhere in the world. We all have faults. And sometimes finding them in others is comforting, makes them more like us, allowing us to relate to them more easily. Sam Montford made a substantial mistake. But he’s ready to atone for that mistake and to share with Shelter Valley the good things he’s created in his life. He asks only to be forgiven.
Strangers in Paradise takes place in the area that’s been my home my entire life—with all the good and the bad that come with living in such a paradise! I do love Miami, for all of her beauty, though I admit, of course, we have our problems. We’ve grown too big for our britches in my lifetime; we have crime, and we have craziness. But, still, there’s nothing like a sunset in the western sky, a sunrise, the Deco insanity of Miami Beach, and the beauty to be found in the coral shelves off our coastline. I am a diver—maybe that’s half the reason I love my area so much!
It's always nice to find new authors whose sarcasm and humor gels with mine, which this one definitely did. Check out the book, my review, and enter the giveaway below...

Now Jack will have to play the field, dating each of the men in an attempt to weed out the kidnapper. But with such an unusual array of characters vying for her attention, pinpointing the culprit may prove even harder than finding Mr. Right. How to Disappear
by Ann Redisch Stampler
Hardcover & ebook, 416 Pages
June 14th 2016 by Simon Pulse
This electric cross-country thriller follows the game of cat and mouse between a girl on the run from a murder she witnessed—or committed?—and the boy who’s sent to kill her.
Nicolette Holland is the girl everyone likes. Up for adventure. Loyal to a fault. And she’s pretty sure she can get away with anything…until a young woman is brutally murdered in the woods near Nicolette’s house. Which is why she has to disappear.
Jack Manx has always been the stand-up guy with the killer last name. But straight A’s and athletic trophies can’t make people forget that his father was a hit man and his brother is doing time for armed assault. Just when Jack is about to graduate from his Las Vegas high school and head east for college, his brother pulls him into the family business with inescapable instructions: find this ruthless Nicolette Holland and get rid of her. Or else Jack and everyone he loves will pay the price.
As Nicolette and Jack race to outsmart each other, tensions—and attractions—run high. Told in alternating voices, this tightly plotted mystery and tense love story challenges our assumptions about right and wrong, guilt and innocence, truth and lies.

Welcome to my Weekly Update where I post my blog's schedule for the week! I'm linking up to The Sunday Post, hosted by Kimba @ The Caffeinated Book Reviewer, as well as to Tynga's Reviewsfor Stacking the Shelves and Talk Supe for Bought, Borrowed, and Bagged showcasing the books I added to my shelves or Kindle this week.
It's been so hot here, so we've been enjoying playing in the water and swimming to help combat that, or just staying inside. My youngest learned how to swim a few weeks back and it's the cutest thing to see how excited she is about being able to do it on her own and without a floaty. :) The kids have been keeping me really busy so I ended up not having as much time as I would have liked for reading and blogging, but at the same time, I love my kids and this time while they're still younger is precious. We'll be heading on vacation in a week to visit some family and see some sites and we're all looking forward to it! Here's what to expect on the blog this week...
I’m an avid reader. And with my 75th book publishing in a few days, I’m an avid writer, too. And yet there was one aspect of storytelling to which I was completely ignorant. Absent. I didn’t get it. The world of audiobooks.
And then, a few years ago, I was given a free audiobook from one of my favorite authors. I put it on iPod more to be polite than anything else. The book was a gift, I’d listen out of respect. Then, I figured, I’d go buy the book and read it so that I could get my full enjoyment out of the story.
That didn’t happen. Instead, as happens so many times in my life, my ignorance turned to understanding. And an entire new world opened up to me. I’d planned to listen to a few words on my daily commute and then switch to the music that always saw me safely down the road. Imagine my conundrum when, for that whole week, all I wanted to do was commute! I couldn’t wait to get in the car and get back to my friends.
And now, this week, I have the honor of bringing you one of my own books in audio format! Sheltered In His Arms is a unique story. It’s about a man who made a huge mistake. It’s about the people he loves. The people who once loved him. And it’s about healing. I hope you’ll give it a listen! I personally chose the narrator based on audition recordings and she does a great job. I promise friends to sit in the car with you as you get to where you need to be!
(Timeless Regency Collection) by Jennifer Moore, G.G. Vandagriff, & Nichole Van
Adult Historical Romance
ebook, 261 Pages
March 8th 2016
From the publisher of the #1 Amazon bestselling A Timeless Romance Anthology series in Clean Romance.
Join three bestselling Regency Romance authors, Jennifer Moore, G.G. Vandagriff, and Nichole Van, for three new novellas in SPRING IN HYDE PARK:
A HAPPY ACCIDENT by Jennifer Moore. Jonathan Burles father has just died, making him the new Marquess of Spencer and the most sought after bachelor in London. An unfortunate accident leads to a forced marriage to Maryann Croft, a young woman who possesses no title, and an unexpected secret. With the unstable beginning to their marriage, finding love together seems impossible.
THE DISDAINFUL DUKE by G. G. Vandagriff. Lady Saphronia Huffington has always thought of herself as plain next to the beauty of her sister, Lady Lavinia. So when her sister becomes engaged to Lord Gilbert Caldwell and Saphronia is paired for wedding events with his brother, the granite-faced Duke of Mayfield, who is known to prefer beauties, she sharpens her wit. Thus begins a lengthy sparring contest during which the Duke realizes Saphronia is anything but plain.
AN INVISIBLE HEIRESS by Nichole Van. Miss Belle Heartstone has everything money can buy—houses, servants, carriages, clothing, jewels. A husband, however, is proving much harder to, ehr . . . purchase. Colin Radcliffe, the newly minted Marquess of Blake, is in desperate need of funds—preferably of the wife-free variety. When circumstances draw the two together, Blake might be the only man able to see beyond the Belle’s outer façade, and fall in love with the woman inside.
Lynda Turner has struggled with depression since her husband abandoned her and their young daughter fifteen years ago.
Yet unexpected hope awakens when a local ex-convict shows interest. As long-hidden secrets resurface, Lynda must fight for her emotional stability and for a life where the shadow of shame is replaced by the light of love.
Jilted tells of a woman who has lost the joy of living, a man determined to draw her back toward happiness, and a town that must—once and for all—leave the past where it belongs. It is a gentle reminder that all things can work together for good.
Wishful Endings is where I talk about books I enjoyed, felt were worth a read, or would recommend. I read mainly YA, but also Adult, Christian, and LDS Fiction, and occasionally a Middle Grade, Children's, or LDS Nonfiction title. I also love cooking and some other hobbies (like decorating, crafts, music, and sewing) and you'll see me review those types of books once in a while. I will always include content info in my reviews when applicable. I'm also a tour host for Prism Book Tours.
Please be aware that I do receive free ARC’s, hard copy books, and ebooks from authors, publishers, NetGalley, Edelweiss, and other sources. I will always state where I received each book I review. This will never affect or influence what I review or recommend or my opinions in any way. Please also be aware that I am an affiliate of Amazon and the Book Depository. This means that if you make any purchase (even if different from the product(s) or page(s) I linked to) using any applicable links on my blog I receive a small kickback. Again, this will never affect or influence my reviews. They are completely my own. Thanks!
