Summary

The two warring sides of Rogues and Shadows will have to meet. Kate will have to confront Alec and his cruel ambition once again. But every moment with the Shadows is detrimental to those she loves, especially Kylan. So she must find a way to outsmart the person who taught her everything she knows, the most feared Shadow in the world.
Kate is strong. She survived once. But even the strongest people can break with the right pressure, and Alec is ready to tear her life apart.
Excerpt
“As much as I want to fight,” I smiled, filling with contempt and remembering the thrill of winning a battle, “I have other things to consider now. I can’t just go storming the castle like old times.”
“Yeah, okay.” Thayer bobbed his head.
I raised an eyebrow at how fast he backed off. “Uh, you’re actually okay with that?”
“Oh, no.” Thayer shook his head. “But I can wait until you come around.”
He winked at me and I shoved him away. His smile broke through as he took the blow.
I glanced to the left and saw Sage sauntering back to Thayer’s side. Behind her was the rest of the group, looking every bit as out of place as a Rogue in the mansion should.
“Until then,” Thayer announced, turning to the group. “You and your friends are welcome to stay as long as you need. The Shadows are probably going to be as courteous as can be expected.”
A series of laughs and snickers rippled across the crowd. All of them looked at the Rogues like new toys to play with. Thayer looked around at his people.
“But you will leave them unharmed. Anyone who decides to do otherwise will have to answer to me,” Thayer purred.
It wasn’t a threat like Alec would have dealt. Instead of cowering, the people around him smiled and cheered. He beamed and extended his arms out to accept the praise.
