My Review

THE COWGIRL'S SACRIFICE is about a cowgirl who is at a crossroad in her life and back home to figure things out, and the cowboy she left behind who just might get his second chance at love. It's about family, trust, faith, letting go and romance. An enjoyable read from beginning to end.

There are some stories that you can tell from the beginning that you'll enjoy and this was one of those. I immediately liked the characters and the writing style of the author. I didn't feel like any of the characters fell flat, but were all complex and unique. I loved the way family played a role in this story between Kate and her brothers, and Jess with his mom, sister and niece. You could feel the bonds in these relationships as well as other friendships, and the chemistry between Kate and Jess. I also thought the faith element was woven through well without being too heavy. The ending was especially lovely. It's also not necessary to have read the other books in the series to read and enjoy this one.

My only complaint would be with Kate. I didn't like how she gave Jess a hard time about not trusting her when she kept telling him she was looking at other job options and leaving. It's like she wondered why he would have doubts, doubts that I thought he was justified in having. I think I just wanted her to be a bit more honest and vulnerable instead of putting it on him.

In the end, was it what I wished for? I really enjoyed reading this and now need to read the other books in the series. Definitely recommended to readers who enjoy inspirational romance with great characters, a well-told story, second chances and cowboys and cowgirls.
