My Review
FALLING FOR HER CONVENIENT GROOM is a story about a woman and a man who are both trying to prove themselves to their families. Their career minded, but find that a marriage-of-convenience will help them both get what they want. The characters are charming and the setting romantic as these two try not to fall in love. Fans of the author and this line of books will enjoy this one!
I enjoyed the first book in this series, partly due to the dog (he was adorable!), and have been looking forward to this next book. Those who haven't read the first book won't have any issues following along, but I do think it adds to the enjoyment. In this second book readers get to see what happens between Carla and Franco who are both so career-minded that they don't plan on ever getting married. Of course, that seems to be the best for them both so that Carla can run the family business while also protecting her father's health and Franco can help his family business grow. What follows is a test of both of their wills as they're in close proximity with plenty of chemistry flowing between them. I really loved both of these characters. They're both strong, smart and have caring hearts. There is a complex family dynamic for them both as well as some bad blood between the two families. There are also a few twists. It makes for a fun and entertaining story.
I think I would have like a bit more development. Maybe more going on in the story instead of being in the characters' thoughts so much.
In the end, was it what I wished for? An overall sweet and entertaining story to escape in. Readers will enjoy these characters and the sparks that fly in this sweet modern take on the marriage-of-convenience trope.
