My Review

SNOWBOUND ESCAPE is a page-turning romantic suspense where the underlying feeling of danger is consistent throughout and the romance ebbs and flows as it slowly builds. The inspirational elements are woven through well and are well balanced with the other aspects of the story. Readers of the genre and imprint will enjoy these characters and the story overall as it unfolds.

I've read this author before and this K-9 series is a good fit for her since the books I loved most from her included dogs. I definitely felt the characters and plot were well done. The story didn't feel overly dramatic or unbelievable. I also liked the dynamics of the main characters with the heroine being a crime scene investigator, the hero being a cop and then the added character of his K-9 partner. The feeling of danger is present from the first page until things climax and then resolve. It definitely kept me turning the pages. I thoroughly enjoyed the first three-fourths of this story and then thought the ending was very sweet.

My only complaints was a conversation towards the end between the villain and the heroine and her actions that followed, and then the complete halt in a relationship and then declarations that felt much too soon.

In the end, was it what I wished for? This was an enjoyable read. It can be read on its own, but would probably be enhanced by reading the prior books in the series. It also leads to wanting to read the other books. For dog lovers and romantic suspense fans, this is a read worth considering for a quick, inspiring romantic suspense.

Content: Some violence, but clean.
