Review briefs are just like they sound, a briefer review (and usually for more
than one book) than my norm for books that I want or need to share about.
It's also a play off of legal briefs, which include just what you need to know...

My Review

PAPER LOVE was such a sweet, heartfelt, lovable story! The romance was a slow-build, the characters were fully fleshed, and there were moments of heart, friendship, and family woven throughout. A delightful read for sweet romance readers!

The author did a great job of mixing the moments of heartbreak with humor and romance. I loved the way the story developed and I adored Ben who would face one of his major fears for something that Joss wants to experience. I loved how he wanted to understood her and how he grew to. I especially loved the ending!

In the end, was it what I wished for? Yes. Sweet, with all the feels, and a happily-ever-after ending.

Summary

Frederick Worth, the Earl of Brent, is out of luck. He’s gambled away a considerable fortune, and London’s creditors are in pursuit. Rather than return to Faraday Hall and risk his father’s displeasure, he flees to his property in the remote north. Only Penshaw Manor isn’t quite the safe, comfortable haven he expects.

Freddie is horrified to discover that not only is the property in an alarming state of disrepair but “the Earl of Brent” is loathed by tenants and neighbors alike. Forced to conceal his true identity, he finds himself enjoying this small circle of society, even as he falls for the lovely—if oftentimes infuriating—Miss Rosalind Harris.

Now he’s tempted to bid farewell to his rakish ways and become the true lord of Penshaw Manor. But first, Freddie must prove his worth to Miss Rosalind—and to himself—before anyone discovers who he really is.…

My Review

A RAKE REFORMED was a light historical romance with a unique situation. There's a feisty heroine, a dashing gentleman, and small-town charm, with some humor thrown in. A sweet story for historical romance readers.

I enjoyed these characters and how friendship and then the possibility of more develops between them. I enjoyed that it was on the lighter side, allowing it to be a relaxing read that left a smile on my face. I enjoyed the setting and the other characters, as well as how Freddie  has to make some changes to win the heart of the lady he loves.

In the end, was it what I wished for? Just a sweet story with a nice happily-ever-after ending.
