"Waiting On" Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted by Breaking the
Spine, that spotlights upcoming releases that we're eagerly
anticipating.
Here are two books coming out early March that I can't wait to read:
MILA 2.0 (MILA 2.0 #1) by Debra Driza
Publication: March 12, 2013
Goodreads summary:
Mila 2.0 is the first book in an electrifying sci-fi thriller series about a teenage girl who discovers that she is an experiment in artificial intelligence.
Mila was never meant to learn the truth about her identity. She was a girl living with her mother in a small Minnesota town. She was supposed to forget her past —that she was built in a secret computer science lab and programmed to do things real people would never do.
Now she has no choice but to run—from the dangerous operatives who want her terminated because she knows too much and from a mysterious group that wants to capture her alive and unlock her advanced technology. However, what Mila’s becoming is beyond anyone’s imagination, including her own, and it just might save her life.
Mila 2.0 is Debra Driza’s bold debut and the first book in a Bourne Identity–style trilogy that combines heart-pounding action with a riveting exploration of what it really means to be human. Fans of I Am Number Four will love Mila for who she is and what she longs to be—and a cliffhanger ending will leave them breathlessly awaiting the sequel.
The Nightmare Affair (The Arkwell Academy #1) by Mindee Arnett
Publication: March 5, 2013
Goodreads
summary:
Sixteen-year-old Dusty Everhart breaks into houses late at night, but not because she’s a criminal. No, she’s a Nightmare.
Literally.
Being the only Nightmare at Arkwell Academy, a boarding school for magickind, and living in the shadow of her mother’s infamy, is hard enough. But when Dusty sneaks into Eli Booker’s house, things get a whole lot more complicated. He’s hot, which means sitting on his chest and invading his dreams couldn’t get much more embarrassing. But it does. Eli is dreaming of a murder.
Then Eli’s dream comes true.
Now Dusty has to follow the clues—both within Eli’s dreams and out of them—to stop the killer before more people turn up dead. And before the killer learns what she’s up to and marks her as the next target
Do you want to read these too? Do you have any WOW titles you'd like
to share?
I really want to read The Nightmare Affair-love the cover and the premise sounds so neat!
ReplyDeleteMe too! :) It's a completely different plot than I've read before and I am really looking forward to reading it.
DeleteI think I'm reading The Nightmare Affair next...it sounds deliciously creepy, doesn't it? :) Great pick! Thanks for sharing. Here's my WoW today! Happy Wednesday! :D
ReplyDeleteIt does sound creepy, but at the same time sweet. I can't handle the really morbid stuff, so this is my kind of book. I'll "see" you at your WOW.
DeleteGreat picks! Bot of them sound great :D I love the original idea of The nightmare affair.
ReplyDeleteMel@thedailyprophecy.
It seems we are not alone in liking the idea. These are both on my list for the 2013 Debut Authors Challenge. There are so many great books and authors out there and more every year. I'm excited to find some more favorites this year like I did last year.
DeleteI think I'm going to try Nightmare Affair. I don't always like books about dreams -- often dreams in books fall into the same category as flashbacks for me -- they pull me out of the main narrative. But this book sounds really different and intriguing!
ReplyDeleteLove your little comment owl!!
I agree about not always liking books about dreams, but this one definitely doesn't sound like flashbacks at all. Thanks - I can't take credit since it's from The Cutest Blog on the Block's border from above.
DeleteI am so excited about both of these books! There are so many great books coming out in 2013. My problem is that I am afraid by the time the sequels come out I will have forgotten what has happened and who the characters are!
ReplyDeleteI am that way too sometimes. Although I mostly don't like the wait to see what happens, so sometimes I don't start a series until the last book in the series is out so that I can just read them all at once. :)
DeleteThat is what I usually do too! Especially if it is a series I really love. I only enjoy cliffhangers if I already have the next book waiting! I kinda wish I had waited on Harry Potter. I know I loved them but I can barely remember any details about them. In fact, I just realized the other day by talking to my sister that I was totally wrong about who Harry ended up with in the end. My memory is awful!!
