Friday Favorites is a weekly meme hosted here, that spotlights a favorite author, book, series, publisher, cover, blog, etc. Basically whatever bookish thing that you love, recommend, and want to tell others about. Just pick one and link up to my post each Friday to share. You can use the graphic I used above, the other one here, or your own.
Last week was the first of three posts spotlighting some of my favorite bloggers. I've been following blogs for a couple of years now and I feel like some of the things I do were influenced by them. They definitely have influenced my reading choices. Most of you probably are already familiar with these blogs, but if you're not I definitely recommend checking them out! :)
Kathy's blog, I Am A Reader, Not A Writer, was one of the first book blogs I ever followed. I can't even remember when I first started following her. She had less than 500 GFC followers at that time, so it was probably back in 2010, so not long after she started blogging. Her blog has grown a ton since then! It's amazing how Internet and the blogging world has changed.
Why do I love Kathy and her blog? Well, because:
1. She reviews books similar to my own tastes. First, she likes to read clean books (little to no swearing and sexual content). Second, she reads genres I enjoy as well: Adult and YA Fiction, mostly romances.
2. She's willing to back authors that she really likes and help promote their books.
3. She always posts content warnings in her reviews.
4. She has some really great book tours.
5. She has fabulous giveaways.
6. She organizes all those fun hops.
7. She is just all around super nice and great to work with.
Blogger Interview:
I want to welcome Kathy to my blog! She's going to answer a few questions for me. :)
Would you tell us just a little bit about yourself? What your interests are, favorite authors, favorite genres/subgenres, something unique that we may not know about you?

I have an elementary education degree but have been a stay at home mom for
the past 19 years. Children’s Literature was a favorite class. I love authors
who write clean romance. I enjoy contemporary romance and young adult
literature the most. Outside of reading and blogging I enjoy learning about
healthy living and natural healing.
Oooh. I think I would love taking a Children's Literature class too. How long have you been blogging and why did you decide to start a book
blog?
3 ½ years. I wanted to be able to sign up for ARC tours so I started a
blog.
Probably one of my favorite things about blogging is all the ARCs. I still get excited about getting each one! One reason I followed your blog initially and continue to do so is that you
include content warnings in your reviews. Why did you decide to go that
route?
I hate when I start reading a book and then find objectionable content and
have to put the book down. Movies come with ratings that let you know about the
content. I wish books did too!
Thank you for doing that! What is one fictional book you absolutely cannot live without?
Pride and Prejudice.
Fabulous choice! :) What are one to three favorite new-to-you author(s) or debut author(s) from
this year so far?
Annette K. Larsen – Just Ella
Leigh Barddugo – The Grisha Series (Shadow and Bone, Siege and Storm)
Annette Haws – The Accidental Marriage
Good choices again. I'll be reading The Accidental Marriage pretty soon for its tour. What do you love the most about blogging?
Interacting with other authors and bloggers. I find a lot of satisfaction
in helping them.
Thank you, Kathy, for letting me interview you!

About Kathy
(from her blog)
As the title of my blog clearly states I am a reader, not a writer. I love to read. I do not love to write. I hate spoilers and find it nearly impossible to write a long review of a book without giving away too much of the story...
I’m a Stay at Home mom who loves to read. I have an elementary education degree from BYU. Children’s Literature was my favorite class.
I read from a variety of genres but favor fairy tale retellings, fantasy and clean romance & young adult books.
I try to read books that are clean & uplifting.
