“Are you sure?” he asked.
Sure? Sure of what? And when? When had I ever been sure? And if I had, when had it ever worked out? These were strange questions of relativity to be clanging around my mind, but John’s question forced them to the forefront. I’d made a whole life of trying and failing, starting and quitting. Leaving. Even now, when everything was going well, when a man who loved me was asking me to be with him, I was about to start the cycle all over again. I wasn’t sure of anything.
About the Author
Beth Troy is a writer and educator who teaches courses in Creativity & Innovation and Women & Entrepreneurship at Miami University. Her first novel, Lu, is a modern woman’s journey back to her family, her faith, and herself. Beth will be publishing the sequel in Summer 2020.
