What I don't need is romance, so I have no plans to change my thirty-year-old bachelor status anytime soon.But my youngest sister thinks that by accepting a short-term construction job in the small European country of Skymar, that I'm going to follow along in her footsteps and discover my own romantic adventure. Nope. Bah humbug. The End. This time, her rom-com-movie senses are totally wrong.
Or maybe not. Because I've met a Grace Kelly lookalike who is annoying. . . until she isn't. But she is impossible. As in, nothing can happen between us because she is a literal princess. Even though that's easy to forget when we're working together to restore a castle-like orphanage in a secluded mountain town and "forced proximity" includes a small closet, a secret one-hundred-year-old journal, and the tactile memory of an off-limits royal in my arms.
Basically, the whole situation has turned into an ooey gooey magical snow globe of romantic tropes complete with cute kids and an actual ball. Now, even my sentences are starting to sound like mush. Ugh. Send high levels of testosterone my way--I'm going to need it.

My Review
LOYALLY, LUKE is a story full of sibling comradery, humor, sweet moments, and romance. It's pure delight from the first page to the last and readers won't be able to stop smiling through it all. Highly recommended!
This book (and series) has such great characters! I loved Luke so much! He's this soft-hearted, steady, hard-working, and charming (plus a bit grouchy - or at least he tries to appear to be) guy. He also has three sisters (one a cousin adopted in) who tease him but also love him fiercely, just like he does them. He has quite a bit of responsibility on his shoulders and some heartbreak in his past, so he's a complex, well-drawn character and also easy to relate to. Ellie is much more reserved as she needs to be to try to overcome her past. I loved her too with her loyalty and love for her family and responsibilities, her vulnerability, and warm heart. She has this fun list of things she's always wanted to do with a tinge of sadness for the purpose behind it. She too is a complex character with her own challenges, who is trying to find her place in the world. Then there are Luke's sisters and all their conversations as well as Ellie's BFF and her family.
I adored getting to visit this quaint European town with its historic buildings, cozy feel and friendly people. I could not get enough of all the movie references and romance tropes and terms referenced in this book! The whole premise and Luke admitting his life has become a Hallmark movie is priceless. Then him drawing Ellie's curiosity so that she goes and checks out those movies is so much fun! There are so, so many fun moments, but also sweet ones with orphaned children and between family and friends. The romance is spot on with serious chemistry and so many laughs. I seriously could not read this fast enough but was still sad when it was over.
In the end, was it what I wished for? I honestly could not get enough of these characters and story! The setting was ideal, plot perfectly paced, loveable characters, great dialogue, and delightful romance with plenty of humor and depth. A must read for romantic comedy fans!
