Summary

Jane Reeves and Sean O'Callaghan seem to be a match made in heaven—but the timing is all wrong. Jane has her heart set on serving a mission, and she can't delay telling Sean the news any longer: not only has she quietly submitted her mission papers, but she's also leaving in a month ... for Alaska. Shocked and devastated, Sean struggles to come to terms with Jane's decision. Unable to deny the depth of their feelings for one another, Sean makes a promise to wait for her.

Life unfolds for both Jane and Sean, with communications limited to weekly e-mails. But with just a few months left in Jane's mission, Sean's messages stop. When she receives the dreaded "Dear Jane" breakup along with the news that she has been replaced by Sean's former flame, Jane knows the future she envisioned now belongs to another woman. But upon her return home, Jane quickly realizes some things are worth fighting for—perhaps, most of all, a shot at true love.

My Review

LOVE, JANE is an adorably sweet and heartfelt LDS romance. Likable characters who come across as authentic, strong family relationships, and a happily-ever-after romance is sure to delight readers who enjoy the genre.

I loved how this story started right off in the middle of Jane's and Sean's budding relationship! I also enjoyed the switch in POV from one to the other as they try to see where their relationship might go. I wanted so much for things to work out for them! I adored Jane, even with her communication and trust issues. She's a sweetheart and had to learn some tough lessons, especially on her mission. Sean is such a level-headed guy, except... when he's not. Ha! He had a pretty good stretch where he frustrated me and where things felt quite off, but he redeemed himself in the end. They fit so perfectly together and I loved their chemistry and how they are best friends before anything else. You could just feel the emotion right through the pages.

One aspect of the story that made this so enjoyable was the family dynamic. Sean is really close with his sisters and dad as is Jane with her family. I loved the talks and the moments that were so meaningful between them. It all felt real with their struggles and hopes and dreams.

My only issues with the story would be all the red flags that Sean ignores and how much I did not like Victoria. I also would have liked more of the story to be when Sean and Jane are together. That would be all.

In the end, was it what I wished for? I really enjoyed this one and I'm hoping there's one more story coming to give DJ his happily-ever-after!

About the Author

During her early years of reading, Raneé S. Clark devoured fantasy books, which continued into her adulthood—since she often believes that a well-written romance novel is a delightful fantasy. Though raising three boys can sometimes hamper both romance with her own Mr. Charming and her writing, she tries to get a little of both in every day. And most of the time she succeeds.
