Summary
In this adorably illustrated alphabet book, children will discover stories of the amazing men and women in the scriptures. Each page features a letter from the alphabet that corresponds to a hero from the Bible or the Book of Mormon. For added fun, readers can search for hidden objects that start with that letter too.
Use this book to teach your children powerful examples of courage, obedience, faith, and friendship. Your children will love learning about spiritual heroes from Abinadi to Zoram, while practicing their ABCs!
My Review
This book was so cute and fun! It held all of my kids' attention as we read it together. They also loved finding the other items on the page that started with each letter of the alphabet. One of the pages, P, the kids were surprised to see the items hiding in the water, another they loved seeing the clouds in different shapes. My 5-year-old's favorite page was for L standing for Lehi. For some reason the lobster cracked him up. Then my 7-year old loved the page for D standing for Daniel. She loved the dancing lions with Daniel. It's just a super fun page! My 9-year-old son loved the S page for Samuel. Her thought it was hilarious what items were being thrown.
Overall this was just a really fun read and something I could see my kids re-reading and looking at, even during church. Each page has a little synopsis of the character or story along with two colorful pages. It is definitely one I would recommend for other families.
I found the illustrator's process for illustrating A is for Abinadi really interesting. You can read his blog post about that here. You can also print out some coloring pages here.
