Romancing Daphne
(The Lancaster Family #3)
by Sarah M. Eden
Adult Historical Romance
Paperback & ebook, 328 Pages
June 21st 2017 by Covenant Communications, Inc.

Summary

As her first London Season looms before her, the thought of the impending social whirl fills Daphne Lancaster's timid heart with dread. She hasn't her sisters beauty nor their talent for conversing easily. Even her family's enviable connections may not be enough to prevent disaster.

But Daphne's misery turns to surprised delight when the first event of her Season brings an unexpected visitor to her door—James Tilburn, whose tender kindness stole her heart in her youth. When the handsome young gentleman expresses his desire to court her, Daphne is elated. Their feelings for each other quickly grow, and it appears that, much to Daphne s disbelief, her happily ever after is within reach.

Yet nothing is as it seems. The couple finds themselves caught in a tangled web of greed and deceit, leaving James and Daphne to determine whether they are willing to risk everything for true love.

My Review

ROMANCING DAPHNE was a charming read from the first page to the last. With endearing characters, a sweet romance, and a muddle of a situation, it's sure to delight readers of the genre and the author's fans. Highly recommended!

I didn't know a lot about Daphne from the previous stories, which shouldn't completely surprise me as she is rather reserved and shy. I enjoyed seeing how her mind worked and her care for others. Both her and James are slightly trapped in their situations and find true friendship with each other. Once Daphne opened up more, I enjoyed their conversations and how the romance slowly blooms. I loved getting to see more of Persephone and Adam. He really quite makes me laugh all the time. I also enjoyed seeing glimpses of the other two Lancaster siblings, which I hope will also get their own stories.

The story moved at a fairly steady pace until further on when Daphne overhears a conversation that changes everything. This is where the story really pulled on my heart and I couldn't' help falling in love with both Daphne and James. Lots of feels in the second half of the story.

In the end, was it what I wished for? Yes, it was! I enjoyed this story immensely and am looking forward to more from Eden!
