Summary

With her harrowing tale of espionage and near death experiences finally out in the open, Anastasia Phoenix thought things would be better. That she and her friends had outsmarted Department D, the criminal empire her parents helped create.

She thought wrong.

Former friends have turned to enemies, causing more innocent lives to get swept up into the dangerous world her parents created. Now it’s up to Anastasia to stop the damage before anyone else gets hurt—or worse. She embarks on a treacherous trail from Poland to Prague, and old rivals emerge at every turn. But when the final confrontation occurs, will she be too late to protect the ones she loves… or even herself?

Top 10 Dream Vacation Spots
By Diana Rodriguez Wallach, author of End of
the Lie, book three in the Anastasia Phoenix series.

Travel is a passion of mine, so rather than dream about it, I try to hit the roads (or skies) as much as possible. I often tell people, “You will never regret going on vacation.” In fact, that was how I convinced my husband we needed to go a friend’s destination wedding Rio de Janeiro: “When you’re old and on your death bed, are you really going to regret going to Rio? Will you really be thinking, ‘Gee, I wish I spent that money on new tires for the car?’ Yeah, I didn’t think so.”

So, blissfully, I’ve seen many inspiring places. The farthest I’ve traveled was probably Bali, Indonesia or Bora Bora, French Polynesia. I studied abroad in Spain and can tell you that Spaniards are living life well. That experience gave me the bug to travel extensively through Western and Eastern Europe. Of some of those trips, I can say that the Greek Islands was the most relaxing. Italy has the best food. Amsterdam has the chillest people, and Parisians aren’t nearly as rude as everyone says. Germany’s dark history is hard to escape. Prague is where I was on 9/11. London is where I was on election night 2016. And while Caribbean islands can blend from one turquoise beach into another, Puerto Rico is where my dad is from, so I’ll always have a soft spot for that island.

In terms of where I’d like to go next—I’ve never been to Africa or Australia. Both are vacations of a lifetime that take a lot of saving, but I’ll get there someday. ;)
