Sprinkled with Sabotage may be part of a series, but readers can start anywhere. But while you may not need to rush out and get books 1 and 2, I think it will be fun to give you a breakdown of just who you will be meeting in the small Pennsylvania town of St. Claire.
Lizzy Bennet: When I think about Lizzy, I see a mix of Elle Woods, April Ludgate, and Katniss Everdeen. She’s in love with the city, but she knows where she came from. She’ll wear stilettos one minute and work boots the next. ‘Get a date’ is nowhere on her ‘to do’ list, but her high school boyfriend will always have a place in her heart. Not that she’d admit it.
Koby Knightly: This small-town mechanic always meant to leave his rural hometown for the big city, but when his high school girlfriend took off, he could never quite bring himself to do so. A rough childhood hasn’t dampened his sense of humor. And so even in the most serious situations he’ll be ready with a snarky comment and charming smile. Oh, and he’s totally hot.
Nikki Appleton: St. Claire is Nikki’s first small town and the tightknit atmosphere suits her desire for a quiet life just fine. When she grew up with no stability, she didn’t let it get her down, choosing instead to make some of her own by starting her own business. She came to St. Claire to hideout, but there was no way she was going to go unnoticed by sheriff’s deputy, Josh Bennet.
Josh Bennet: Josh is exactly the big and strong guy you want coming to your rescue, but Lizzy’s brother is not all muscle. He understands walking through the fire of loss and grief, and he suspects there’s more than meets the eye when it comes to the new-in-town doughnut maker, Nikki.
Rob Appleton: No one is more mysterious than Nikki’s long-lost brother, Rob. That’s probably because most of his life was a mystery. The people around him never even knew his real name. His life was full of violence and danger and he knows exactly who to blame. He’ll do anything to protect the family he has left.
