My Health Challenge and What I'm Doing... Part 2

If you caught my first post about my struggle with being in shape and my weight, you know that I'm making a big push this month to start getting back on track to a healthier me. I decided it was time for an update...
There is about a week and a half left of this challenge. How am I doing? It's ironic, but I'm gaining a lot of muscle which is cancelling out weight loss. Lol! That's a good thing, but frustrating if you look at the scale. I would have to say that is the only frustrating thing so far though even though it is actually a positive thing as long-term muscle will continue to burn off the fat. Plus I'm getting some decent muscle definition in my arms and legs. I've been hungry and so I'm burning through my calories and keeping my metabolism going, which means eating more calories. Such a rough problem to have: gaining lots of muscle and needing more calories. I still have a ways to go...

I have lost over 10" over all my body. What makes me even happier is that I've lost 2" around my waist alone. Pants are getting a little lose, which is a great feeling. My friend and husband who are both doing this with me have lost inches and 9-10 lbs of weight in about 3 1/2 weeks. That's pretty awesome! Both of them had already been exercising on a regular basis while I had been on a month break (break is a good word for it right?). They both also have more weight to lose. I really only have about 15 pounds and even then, I'd be fine with my weight if my waist was smaller and I was in shape, so it's really about my clothes fitting and me being happy with my body. My husband's anxiety has gone down or is basically non-existent versus before he started this and it had been creeping up a lot. We both have more energy and feel better and that to me is a huge plus.

One thing that has helped is being part of the Sweet Freedoms Facebook group. It has great tips and encouragement with before and after pictures and stories that have all helped me to stay motivated. If you'd like to come check it out, shoot me a message (or message me on Facebook) to let me know so that I can add you. You don't have to use any of the product to join. There is plenty of info about all sorts of healthy things. :)

I have another week and a half before the challenge ends to see where I am again. After Thanksgiving even. No pressure. I'll have pie and not even feel guilty about it. ;) What I like about this is that they encourage healthy nutrition, but not going crazy. You can have desert once in a while and other things and that's okay. I will be posting another update at the end of November/beginning of December and possibly some before and after pictures. We'll see if I'm brave enough.

When the challenge ends, does that mean that I'll stop doing what I'm doing? No way. I plan on continuing. I know I'm putting good things in my body, working out hard, and I'm feeling great! Just imagine all the inches I can lose! Those smaller-sized clothes in my closet are calling me...
