My Review

CLOSER is a song with moving lyrics and vocals. The artist's voice is tone perfect and his emotion carries across. There is a subtle beat and acoustic sound to the song that I really liked. The chorus makes me want to sing along and I can see myself doing just that each time this song comes up on my playlist. I'm hoping this is just the beginning for this artist, with hopefully much more to come! If you enjoy R&B with soul, definitely check this one out!

About the Artist

JYWRRN (Jay Warren) is an Alternative R&B recording artist from San Diego, CA. In 2015, Warren co-founded a group called The CR4W with James Curran (James The Mormon), Najee Dennie (Na-G), and Mimi Knowles. The group recorded remixes and music videos of popular hip-hop songs with tens of thousands of YouTube views. Warren was personally asked to audition for Gladys Knight's Saints Unified Voices Choir and has been a soloist in the choir for two years. Jay has perhaps most notably been integral to the trajectory of the James The Mormon brand, playing the role of writer, business advisor, and management advisor. He helped the brand reach the #1 spot on iTunes for the "I'm Not a Rapper" EP release, the #1 New Artist spot on Billboard and recently performed at an NBA Playoff Game Halftime Show with James. Jay has written on tracks featuring David Archuleta, Common Kings, and Taylor Bennett and has opened for 2 Chainz, Sage The Gemini, and T-Pain. His debut single, "Closer" will be released in October 2017. Warren currently resides in Salt Lake City, Utah.
