Summary

Alone in a strange town, can she find healing for her new home . . . and herself?

Ada, Mich.—Between 1854 and 1929, the orphan train movement relocated over 200,000 orphaned, abandoned, or homeless children from the eastern United States to rural areas throughout the country, focusing primarily in the Midwest. Since that time, this movement has captured the attention and curiosity of readers. In The Hope of Azure Springs, debut author Rachel Fordham masterfully blends history and romance in her well-crafted tale of a former “train rider.”

Seven years ago, orphaned and alone, Em arrived at a new home in Iowa after riding the orphan train. But secrets from her past haunt her, and her new life in the western wilderness is a rough one. When her guardian is shot and killed, Em, now nineteen, finally has the chance to search for her long-lost sister, but she won’t be able to do it alone.

Sheriff Caleb Reynolds is determined to solve the case and secure justice for Em. But what he doesn’t expect is the hold this strange young woman will have on his heart.

Historical romance readers will be charmed by the town of Azure Springs as they journey with Em to face her past, embrace her future, and rescue what she’s lost.

Guest Post: Azure Springs Cast List

Caleb Reynolds- A man who wears a badge and wields a gun but deep down would love to live off the land and find joy in the simple things that used to mean so much to him.

Em- A former orphan train rider that has spent the last seven years dreaming of reuniting with her sister. Life has thrown her some deep blows and yet she carries on.

Abraham Howell- Shop keeper and the town altruist.

Abigail Howell- An angel of a woman with a mothering heart.

Mae and Millie Howell- Twin seven year olds that dream of Happily Ever Afters

Eliza Howell- Town beauty that has lost sight of anything but herself.

George- Em’s former guardian

Margaret Anders- Eccentric Owner of the town’s boarding house.

The bandits- Three men that are willing to take what they want at any cost.

Lucy- Em’s beloved little sister.

In addition to these main characters, Azure Springs is populated with a whole slew of townsfolk that each in their own way bring the fictional town to life and create the backdrop of Em’s new life. It is my pleasure to welcome you to this lovely cast of characters that I hope will endear themselves to you like they’ve endeared themselves to me!

And just for fun, here’s a secret- Several of these characters were so dear to me that they reemerge in my second book due out summer 2019 Yours Truly, Thomas.
