Summary

Daniel Cavanaugh has it all—a lucrative career as a lawyer, a gorgeous fiancée, and his future mapped out for him. So why is he feeling increasingly dissatisfied with his life? When the assignment to handle his late grandmother’s estate takes him to the California coast, Daniel welcomes the escape. Staying at the nearby bed-and-breakfast isn’t really his style, but he soon realizes the inn may hold the key to the answers he’s been seeking.

Spindrift Cove has few opportunities for a young unmarried woman like Sarah Michaels. Even so, she enjoys her solitude as owner and chef at the Neverland Inn. She thrives on catering to the needs of her guests and treating them to her fantastic cooking. But when Daniel walks through her door, he immediately tests her patience. Though he is handsome and well-bred, she finds him insufferable. Soon, however, the tranquility of the inn works its magic, and Daniel and Sarah forge a sweet and unexpected connection—until the life he left behind in the city demands his return and it seems that a happily ever after may not be on the menu after all.

My Review

THE NEVERLAND INN is a story of a man who finds his ideal life may not be the life he wants or needs and a woman who has made her inn feel like home with comfort food, caring, and even a loyal dog. The small-town and picturesque setting is a place readers will delight in escaping to as this romance plays out. There's also a mystery that brings the town and the characters closer together, with a happily-ever-after that will leave readers content. An overall heartwarming story.

This was a fun book to read. It was a story that felt almost meandering as the characters were introduced and as they worked their way through figuring things out. I loved that the inn was called The Neverland Inn and was located on Peter Pan Road. Just too fun! Plus, that tied into the story and both of the main characters' favorite book. The romance was very sweet, with a little humor, and a little tension. The chemistry was more on the mild side. I would have liked more development emotionally and with the characters, and a little less drama in how Sarah reacts in the beginning of the story. Otherwise, I enjoyed this.

In the end, was it what I wished for? An enjoyable, heartwarming romance set in a quaint small town and a charming inn.
