My Review

A MONUMENTAL LOVE is a sweet story about finding love in unexpected places, small things that make heroes, and the beauty of a people and culture. Set in part on the Navajo Nation in Arizona on a part at a state university, these characters find challenged by the clash of culture and their modern lives, and that of their needs and desires. Sweet romance fans, especially those who enjoy novellas will enjoy this one.

This story was set not far from me and at some places that I have been, which made for a unique reading experience. I enjoyed the cultural aspect of this story immensely. I also liked these characters and enjoyed seeing how the heroine's hero worship of someone who she knew in the past, shaped her future. I would have loved more development in some areas, but being a novella it worked.

In the end, was it what I wished for? This was a short and sweet story with some wonderful imagery and cultural aspects. I enjoyed the friendships, but especially enjoyed the romance that faced some interesting challenges. An overall enjoyable read.
