Summary

Making decisions in life can be extremely challenging. The toughest part is knowing which choice is the right one, especially during times of doubt, uncertainty, and pressure. We sometimes find ourselves asking questions like, "What if I make the wrong choice? What if I fail? What if things don't work out?" In this high-energy and inspiring talk, Clint Pulver outlines a road map for how to live a life by design and not by default. With hilarious stories and examples from his own life, he shares simple and effective tools, strategies, and ideas for anyone who is trying to find direction and wants to get on track and on purpose with the Lord. Clint says that sometimes our best plans hit roadblocks, but often in life, "good things fall apart so that better things can fit together." He says that with the help of our Heavenly Father, we can design a life of significance, not just success, and we can know that when things look bleak, the best is yet to come.

My Review

THE BEST IS YET TO COME is a recording of Pulver speaking to youth, juniors and seniors in high school and members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. It's an inspiring message with the perfect balance of humor, storytelling, and spiritual messages that youth will find entertaining, but that will also connect with them and urge them to make the best out of what is to come in their lives. It is definitely worth the listen, both for LDS youth and those of other Christian faiths.

Immediately, listening to this, you can tell that Pulver is a very charismatic speaker. It's easy to see that he's a great motivational speaker and I'd love to watch him perform on the drums. He was great with the youth he was speaking to with great voice inflections, humor, and then sincerity when sharing some tough things and teaching some valuable lessons. His message, with the points he was trying to make, easily came across. My only complaint is that I actually wish it would have been longer or had multiple talks included, but at the same time, it's the perfect length for not losing teens' attention and can easily be listened to at under 45 minutes in length. I loved his messages, with the emphasis on how important choices are for youth, and the challenge to go forward and work towards a purpose, particularly what God wants them to be.

In the end, was it what I wished for? This was inspiring from beginning to end. There were things that touched my heart and it inspired me to do better. Hopefully it will do the same for my own teens and for others who listen.
