My Review

A DARING SACRIFICE was a Robin Hood/mistress in distress/girl disguised as a boy/knight in shining armor story full of adventure, romance, sacrifice, and bravery. It begins with a desperate scene that immediately grabs the reader's attention. With fabulous characters, true villains, a heartbreaking story, and fantastic writing, it was a truly enjoyable story from beginning to end!

I loved how the author unveils the characters. You get a glimpse when you first meet them and then their stories slowly unfold and the plot progresses. I felt like I knew them and I also could understand their emotions, which drew me in more to the story. They're great characters, even the villains. I've always had a soft spot for Robin-Hood-like stories and this one was especially well done with a leading lady instead of leading gentleman and a white knight who tries to save her when its her people who need to be saved.

I loved the tie-in from the first book and the lead-off to the next as well. The only thing I would have liked more of was a little more development towards the end, but even with that, I loved this book. I literally could not put it down. I can't wait to find out what happens in the next book!

About the Author

Jody Hedlund is an award-winning and bestselling author of inspirational historical romances including books for adults and youth. She currently makes her home in central Michigan with her husband and their five busy children.

As a busy mama-writer, she has the wonderful privilege of teaching her crew of 5 children at home. In between grading math papers and giving spelling tests, she occasionally does a load of laundry and washes dishes. When she's not busy being a mama, you can find her in front of her laptop working on another of her page-turning stories.

She loves reading almost as much as she loves writing, especially when it also involves chocolate and coffee.
