Bout of Books Read-a-thon Update

Bout of Books

The Bout of Books read-a-thon is organized by Amanda @ On a Book Bender and Kelly @ Reading the Paranormal. It is a week long read-a-thon that begins 12:01am Monday, August 19th and runs through Sunday, August 25th in whatever time zone you are in. Bout of Books is low-pressure, and the only reading competition is between you and your usual number of books read in a week. There are challenges, giveaways, and a grand prize, but all of these are completely optional. For all Bout of Books 8.0 information and updates, be sure to visit the Bout of Books blog.

Below is my original message and goals, which I will include on each day's update. For my ease, I'm going to go ahead and post the template for my updates now and then at the end of each day I will add what I got read, which most of you will see the next morning.

So, I was looking to see what else I need to get read and realized that I've got some books that wouldn't transfer to my Kindle that I downloaded as EPUBs that will expire in a week. I will try to get through as many of those as well. Some may be DNF for me, but I would like to give them enough of a try or read them in order to give feedback on NetGalley anyway. Here they are:

I also have Fifteen Minutes by Karen Kingsbury (has no cover yet) that will be expiring and I would like to read.

ORIGINAL POST

Books to Read

Here is a picture of the library books I have to read:

Originally I had three books a couple of weeks ago. I don't ever go into the library and browse. I request what I want and then pick it up when it comes in. The reason for doing that is because I always have little kids with me and it's just easier to keep them happy and watch them if I'm not looking for books for me too; and new releases can be hard to get if I don't request them in advance. Several of these had holds on them and I didn't think I would get them so soon, but it seems that when I have a lot to read that my holds all come in at the same time.

There are some really great books here that I am really excited to read, but since others have requested some of them, I have a limited amount of time to get them read. Thus, joining a read-a-thon. :) Two of these, The Hallowed Ones and Tuesdays at the Tower, are due on Monday. If I get them read before Monday then I won't include them in this. Hopefully I will so that I then only have 13 books left to read.

Time Devoted to Reading

I'm planning on reading every day. If I can get one book finished every day, that would be fabulous!

My Goal

My goal is to get five of these library books read this week. I have a couple of books for tours and one for review that I have to read besides these, so I probably won't make it, but I'll sure try. :) That would be a total of eight (8) books! If I can read during nap time and after the kids go down for the night, I might make it. My house can suffer for a week, right?
