My Review
If you're a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, have weekly Family Home Evenings, and have primary-aged children then this is the perfect book to help you out next year. The book focuses on the primary theme and includes a short lesson, activity, and a challenge to strive for something in the following week. There are also suggested songs and scriptures on the same topic and a section of dessert recipes in the back. Half of the months have four weeks worth of lessons and the other half three with the suggestion of using the fourth week as a review week or when there are school events or other activities that would come up and take the place of FHE.
What I really like about the book is it's really simple, organized, short, and fun. The lessons are short enough that my older children could teach them and will also hold all the children's attention. I also really like the activities. My favorite part is that the book includes a CD so that I can easily print out what I need to. I would definitely recommend this Family Home Evening supplement. I know we'll be using it next year.

I know we'll be using this quite a bit and I'm looking forward to it!
I'm going to Deseret Book tomorrow so I'll have to check it out! I'm interested in the activities that go along with the lessons.
ReplyDeleteThis is AWESOME. I don't have little kids any more, but I still struggle about what to do for FHE all the time. It was so much easier when they were little. Now, finding something every one likes to do is like pulling teeth :). We call ours Family Home Minute. It seems to get harder and harder the older they get. I always want to do a craft after a lesson, and my oldest will indulge me, but the other two are like "are we done yet". One day they will appreciate FHE...Right? :). What a great book !
