My Review

CHRISTMAS JARS is a heartfelt, inspiring movie. It's about a woman journalist who is struggling and finds a Christmas jar on her door full of money. She then researches to find out where it came from and ends up finding a story to share, but a complicated one that she's in the middle of. An overall heartwarming movie to watch with the family and remind us all that Christmas should be more about giving than receiving.

I haven't read the book this movie was based on, so I can't say if it was close to the book or not. I did think there was a good balance of humor, sadness, and heart, along with a touch of romance. The scenes and acting were all well done, with a few hard breaks in between scenes that may be fixed in the finished movie. I watched it with my kids, ages eight to thirteen, and it held everyone's attention. If you're a softy, then expect a few tears and a happily-ever-after ending.

In the end, was it what I wished for? If you are looking for something to watch in the spirit of Christmas this season, this is one I'd recommend. I'd compare it to a Hallmark movie, but with the romance not being the focus. It was sweet and heartwarming and we enjoyed watching it.
