2014 Standalone Reading Challenge

2014 Standalone Reading Challenge

So, have you figured out yet that I'm kind of crazy? No? Well, let me reinforce to you that I am by telling you how I am now signing up for my seventh challenge for this year. Yup. SEVEN. See, I'm totally crazy! But it's okay. :) There's a reason for my madness. Want to know what it is? I have a ton of books to read and I read a ton anyway and so why not join a bunch of challenges, especially ones that will help me? Definitely an emphasis on help. ;) The challenge is keeping them all organized and sorting books where they should go and posting updates each month or, as is more likely for me to actually do, as often as I need to or just when I get to it.

There is a big reason why I'm joining this challenge though: The 2014 Standalone Reading Challenge. I love standalone novels! I have too many series to keep straight and up-to-date with and it's nice to read a book that can be read by itself; to have a story start and end all in one book. This challenge will help me know which books stand alone. I don't always know and sometimes I expect there to not be a series and when there is it can affect how I feel about a book if it doesn't end when I think it will. Do you know what I mean?

Anyway, enough said. :) The 2014 Standalone Reading Challenge is being hosted by Hafsah @ IceyBooks and Lisa @ Dizneeee’s World of Books. You can find all the details here.

I have a bookshelf on Goodreads that I'll use to track my books, but I'll also add them to this post as the year progresses. Here's what I've read (that counts for this challenge) so far:

Being Sloane Jacobs
Buzz Kill
Cruel Beauty
All That Glows
See Jane Run
#16 Things I Thought Were True
Solving for Ex

So far, so good. :)

  2. What a great Idea! I LOVE stand alone books. Sometimes I just need a book that ends! I love series as well, but sometimes they get a little overwhelming..Or sad when they end :). Good luck

    1. That's how I feel too. I love both series and standalones. It's nice to not know what will happen in a story for a year as well. :)
