My Review

A CHRISTMAS COURTING is a collection of charming stories full of family, romance, and holiday traditions all set in historical England around Christmastime. The characters were all quite likable and the romances sweet. For sweet romance novella collection fans, this is definitely one to add to your collection!

LOVE AND JOY COME TO YOU by Jennifer Moore: This was probably my favorite story from the collection. I loved how the characters surprised and challenged each other. I also loved the way the children in this story were portrayed and the part they played. The meddling ladies were fun as well. However, my favorite parts were between the main characters and the sweet romance that develops. A story that is definitely worth a re-read.

A CHRISTMAS COURTING by Chalon Linton: This was super cute! The heroine and her sister are the bubbly, dramatic type, but genuine. Reminded me a little of Austen's Emma with Keturah's back and forth emotions. An enjoyable read.

MISTLETOE MEMORIES by Jen Geigle Johnson: This story was one in the collection that I felt had more of an emotional pull. I appreciated that the author let her characters deal with some mistakes and repercussions that felt authentic to the time, but also work through them as they fought for their happily-ever-after. I could see where this could have been a full-length novel on its own with more development, but enjoyed this in novella form as well.

SECOND-CHANCE CHRISTMAS by Heidi Kimball: I love friends-to-love stories and this one was a fabulous example of that! I loved the camaraderie and the competition between these two characters. I enjoyed their history and how that comes to play in their relationship changing. I also liked how the heroine comes to realize her feelings and the way the hero dashes off to find her. Loved this one!

In the end, was it what I wished for? I thoroughly enjoyed this collection! It's perfect for the Christmas season, or any time you're looking for romance with a little mistletoe magic. Readers will love the characters and stories and enjoy the contented feeling at the end. It left me with feelings of happiness and warmth, and a smile.
