Summary

A Corpse That Only Leads to Secrets.
An Old Flame with Danger Written all over Her.
Things Are about to Get Very Complicated.

When one Coast Guard officer is found dead and another goes missing, Coast Guard Investigative Service special agent Finn Walker faces his most dangerous crime yet. His only clues are what little evidence remains aboard the dead officer's boat, and the direction the clues point to will test Finn and the Guard to their limits.

The already volatile situation is complicated even further by the arrival of Gabby Rowley--Finn's boss's sister and an investigative reporter with unrelenting questions about the crime. Now that she's returned, the tug on Finn's heart is strong, but with the risks she's taking for her next big story, he fears she might not live through it.

Thrown together by the heinous crime, Finn and Gabby can't ignore the sparks or judgments flying between them. But will they be able to see past their preconceptions long enough to track down an elusive killer, or will they become his next mark?

My Review

THE KILLING TIDE is a roller-coaster ride of emotion and danger with friendship, family, faith and romance woven throughout. Fans of inspirational romantic suspense and this author will find much to love in this story!

I loved the beginning of this story! It just hooked me from the start with the action, danger, and romantic tension. I also loved the family dynamics and getting a little bit of an inside look into the coast guard. Gabby was so stubborn, but that also was one of the things that made her a good journalist. Finn... he's just one of the good guys. Tough, but tender and he definitely had the feels for Gabby (she did too, but she tried to pretend she didn't). The romance was already there in this story and so you don't get as much of the slow beginning, but there's still plenty of chemistry and sparks. The suspense aspect was pretty intense and violent in parts, so be ready for it. The inspirational element was woven through well.

In the end, was it what I wished for? I really enjoyed reading this! I think the first half of the book was my favorite, but I enjoyed the second half as well. Definitely a book to grab if you enjoy this genre. I'm looking forward to the next installment!

Content: Some violence and innuendo, but clean.
