Summary

My Review
What a roller-coaster ride of emotions! Letters to My Future Husband was quirky, funny, heartbreaking, and sweet at different parts and sometimes all at once. There were parts that upset me (How could she believe her mom about all that looks and money stuff? Or, let her boyfriend be so selfish?), parts that made me swoon (Seriously Peter has some of the best lines and what a guy!), parts spend with friendship and family, and parts that were desperate and broke my heart. I connected with the characters and parts of the story really well. They kept me engaged, making me not want to put this one down until the very end.
Let's talk a little about Sophia. She's tall and has been criticized quite a bit by her mother for being so. They have a fairly poor relationship, which the relationship with her dad seems to correct a little. During the first part of the story she's a little lacking in confidence and a little too easily swayed. Ten years later she still has some issues to work through, but she's much more confident, successful, and eventually hoping to settle down. It was interesting to see her change somewhat as she aged. I loved her quirkiness, sass, and how well she could be thrown into something and respond so quickly. Then you have Peter. He is like the best guy ever! He's there for Sophia as such a good friend. He calms her and is willing to help her in any way he can. There were some parts that really cracked me up, especially between him and Sophia's boyfriend when competition was high. Both Sophia and Peter are so different, and yet they compliment each other.
I also loved all the secondary characters, especially Sophia's brother and his wife and family. There were some great moments of craziness with the kids. I also loved seeing Sophia's mom with her grandchildren and moments Sophia shares with her grandmother. Hanno presented a great crush and comparison. And the letters... Really cute and fun idea and I loved how they played into the story.
I really enjoyed Letters to My Future Husband. It had plenty of conflict. Nothing was perfect or tied up all nicely. It pulled on my emotions. Overall, I enjoyed the journey of friendships, family, heartbreak, and love. It left me satisfied in the ending even though it was one of those books that when you actually got there you wanted more. I love these kinds of crazy and sweet endings! I'd definitely recommend it if you're looking for an LDS romance.
