Summary

Handsome twenty-eight-year-old Will Hallerman has finally had enough of the dating world—he’s ready to find a wife and settle down. This announcement is catastrophic in Hannah Becker’s world. After knowing Will her entire life and adoring him from afar since junior high school, she realizes her chance at love with him is in grave danger. Hannah’s problem? To Will, she will never be more than his best friend’s little sister. Determined to open his eyes to her charms, Hannah sets out to sabotage Will’s wife hunt by placing nightmare dates in his path and taking his search on a wild goose chase. Her plan is risky, but she’s willing to take a chance to catch the eye of her soul mate.

Despite her crazy schemes, nothing seems to be working. Hannah can’t help but wonder if it’s time to set aside this childhood crush—to move on and settle down herself. She’s ready for a fresh start with a great guy. If only Will weren’t suddenly changing the rules of the game . . . And how can Hannah move on when Will just won’t let her forget?

My Review

Always Will is a story about two best friends, family, and romance. Hannah has been in love with Will for as long as she can remember, but Will has been oblivious. She realizes that she's running out of time when he decides to seriously consider marriage, but obviously not with her. What ensues is a crazy struggle as Hannah tries to manipulate Will to see her as she wants to be seen, as an attractive woman and love interest.

I love stories about boys or girls next door. Will has basically always been the boy next door for Hannah as her brother's best friend growing up. She has always loved him, knows him inside and out, and feels she is the perfect woman for him if he would but only look at her as a possibility. I had to crack up at some parts at how much effort she puts into trying to show him a different side of herself. He's known the without-makeup, dressed-down version of Hannah for forever. What he hasn't seen as much is the dressed up, flirtatious, dating Hannah. She also tries to set him up with dates that would never work. I was entertained, but also frustrated. I didn't feel like a friend would really put another friend, that she also happened to be in love with, through all of that. I just wanted her to express her feelings or kiss him or something. Then there was a scene where some secrets were revealed, and the heartache... What Hannah hadn't really considered was Will and his feelings. The ending was intense and crazy with so much potential. I did want to see it developed more, but things were still wrapped up and I'll leave it at that.

Overall, Always Will was an entertaining, enjoyable read. I'd recommend it to those who enjoy romance that's built upon friendship, clean, with some humor, and about a character who finally comes into her own. If you've enjoyed Jacobson's other books, you're sure to like this one as well.
