Summary
Have you ever known exactly what you wanted for Christmas? As a child, you may have written a letter to Santa, made a wish upon a star, or locked your dream away in your heart afraid that it might not come true if you so much as whispered it out loud. Even as adults, Christmas wishes carry a magic that can't be explained.
In North for Christmas, Ruby Jeavon certainly has her heart set on an engagement. It's the first step in creating the family she's always wanted. But things go slightly off course and instead of flying to Italy with her boyfriend, Ruby heads out of town to work as an elf in Nashville. Even though she's far away from her dream, she's about to discover the magic of a Nashville Christmas through the eyes of North Foxwell, her fellow elf and a Christmas expert. Even though North struggles with his own Christmas ghosts, Ruby manages to bring new light to his life. Can Ruby let go of her dream to find what her heart truly desires? Only time--at the North Pole--will tell.

My Review
NORTH FOR CHRISTMAS was a sweet story about two characters who have a change of heart as they work as Santa's helpers during the Christmas season. With friendship, family, romance, and a little Christmas magic, the story was heartwarming from beginning to end.
Ruby grew on me as the story unfolded. She had a rough start and I wasn't exactly sure how I felt about her situation. North was pretty great right off, but he had his own struggles too. I loved the down-to-earth moments these characters experience, with and without each other. Ruby slowly gets a different view of what she's involved in, specifically the people she works with and helps. North has his own pride and family issues, but he also becomes a good friend and eventually opens his heart. There were these great moments where the characters teased, served together, enjoyed friendship and brought Christmas to so many who needed just a little hope and cheer. The ending was especially sweet in multiple ways and brought that feeling of contentment when a story ends so happily that you just want so sigh.
I'd recommend NORTH FOR CHRISTMAS to those who enjoy sweet and/or inspirational romance, stories with family and friendship, and romance that ends with a happily-ever-after.
