Friday Favorites: Book Covers From the Beginning of 2014

Friday Favorites is a weekly meme hosted here, that spotlights a favorite author, book, series, publisher, cover, blog, etc. Basically whatever bookish thing that you love, recommend, and want to tell others about. Just pick one and link up to my post each Friday to share. You can use the graphic I used above, the other one here, or your own.

I picked something a little different for Friday Favorites this time around. I'm showing you my favorite covers from this year so far, so from January through March. I'm sure I've missed some, but so far these are the ones that have stuck out to me for different reasons.

The Winner's Curse (The Winner's Trilogy, #1) Firstborn
Sweet Song: I just love the girl in the red dress and the mysterious forest. Reminds me a little of Red Riding Hood.
The Winner's Curse: This might be my favorite cover of the year. I just love it and love the book as a whole!!! (You can see my review here.)
Firstborn: I just like how artistic this one is, especially with the feathers that frame her face.

A Captain for Laura Rose: I just love the big wooden wheel, the gorgeous hairstyle, the green dress, and the sun peaking out.
Love Comes Calling: I love the switchboard in the background and then her outfit and hair from that era. I think it also reminds me of Deeanne Gist's book Love on the Line, which I loved, so maybe some positive association here.
Shadow Hand: I like the way they framed the path and then those thorns that are closer. It just looks like a good Fantasy novel.

Burn Bright: I just love the kick-butt pose and the colors. There's also that bright star on her back. I'm actually really curious about this one. I didn't love the first book, but there is definitely a lot of potential.
Lady Thief: Just. Love. It! Love the colors and the knife, which is so representative of the character. They really nailed the cover for this one. (You can see my review here.)
Alienated: I love how it represents both of the MCs and where they come from and that they basically are from different worlds. It's also just an interesting cover. (You can see my review here.)

A Mad, Wicked Folly Cruel Beauty
Witch Finder: I love the colors. I love how they took a mostly black and white design and added the red in and the way the title is embellished. I just plain like it. :)
A Mad, Wicked Folly: It's just gorgeous. I love the yellow colorful center with the historical looking backdrop.
Cruel Beauty: Another one that will probably be a top favorite cover for this year. It's just gorgeous! I love how they incorporate the red rose with the stairs and the MC running down them in a red dress. It's a great representation of the book as well. (You can see my review here.)

How about you? Do you have any book covers from books published already this year that you loved?
