Summary

Information terrorism. Complete network blackout. Global panic. Above the chaos, one company rises to restore order, achieving complete political and military takeover: Omnibus.

Stanford graduate and new Omnibus employee Jace Vega faces these sobering images, appearing to show her future, when a cutting-edge Omnibus tablet mysteriously falls into her hands. Reeling from the recent tragic death of her mother, socially reclusive Jace struggles as she carries the weight of this foreknowledge.

When Corey, an acquaintance from Stanford shows up, he becomes central in helping Jace try to stop Omnibus. But because the plan involves getting close to Damien, the charming, smooth son of Omnibus founder, Victor Trent, Jace becomes conflicted with a barrage of new emotions. Both men profess allegiance, but she doesn’t know who she can trust.

As Jace wrestles to understand how to change the future, vivid dreams and waking visions unmask her obscured past and her true identity. In the ultimate test of self-trust, Jace must harness her unique internal power and use it to stop Omnibus.

My Review

I'm trying to put my thoughts together after finishing Eruption. I have so many questions. Did he know when he ran into her and, if he did, what parts were staged? What happened in that short period that she can't remember? Where are all the missing pieces? Let me just say one thing that I don't have any questions about... This story ended in a spectacularly intense, crazy mess with a twist when I thought the twists were done. It was a fabulous ending and I am literally dying to get my hands on the next book. When will that be released???

The beginning of this book, maybe the first third, was a little rough for me. I liked everything except that I was frustrated with the main character and her doubts, anxiety, and paranoia. It just took me a while to figure out where she was coming from and who she was. Once more of the pieces fit together and I got a better picture of her past and her future it made a lot more sense. I still think I would have been ripping through that tablet and not telling a certain co-worker so much, but in the end it all fit into the plot.

Once I got past that third of the book, I began being just as paranoid. Lol! I really didn't know who to trust. I'm still not sure I do. The journey getting there though... Intense. And then... Yep. You'll just have to read it. I won't spoil it. It was very well done. Including all the players. I ended up be invested in them all and now I'm still wondering which ones really deserve my affection.

I just know that I ended up falling in love with Jace. I'm still routing for her and wanting her to succeed. To figure things out. To end up with the right guy. To be safe. For the world to be safe. I liked that the plot felt realistic to me with the emanate information loss, the technology that can be implanted, and the power source, all with a company ready to take over the world. I also liked that there was romance, but it didn't overshadow the story and also wasn't instantaneous.

If you enjoy reading suspenseful romantic sci-fi thrillers, with some interesting characters and twists, then I'd definitely pick Eruption up. It was definitely worth reading and I'm dying for the next book!
