Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:
• Grab your current read
• Open to a random page
• Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
• BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
• Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!
I have two teasers for you today. The second book, A Touch of Scarlet will be released on March 26th.
"Really?" I felt crushed that I didn't know this.
"She needs something right now. Something I can't give her."
I stuck my lip out in sympathy and put an arm around him. He sighed and let his head drop momentarily onto my shoulder. "If it makes you feel any better, she hasn't been very nice to me either," I said.

Michelle pouted. "So Owen, Flynn, Elise, and now you are all going to Europe? Is this some kind of conspiracy?"
I'm not going anywhere," Jess said, grabbing Michelle's hand. "Lockwood's going to be like the island of misfit toys next year. You and I should room together."

I love Jane Eyre, so I've been looking forward to reading A Breath of Eyre for some time. Then I got the second from NetGalley, so perfect timing to read them together. I'm hoping to have both finished and have reviews up later this week. Have you read this or are you planning to?
Whoever this "she" is in the first teaser doesn't sound too nice. Interesting teasers.
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by and following. Returned the favor :)

I love the cover for A Breath of Eyre the best. Thanks for stopping by - I'll be coming over. :)
DeleteI really like the voice in these teasers... enjoy:)
ReplyDeleteThe plot is definitely different than I've read before. Hopefully I do enjoy them. :)
DeleteGood teasers! It's been a while since I've read anything like that but them seem good based on the teasers! Thanks for sharing them!

Thanks, Allison. From the book you have for your teaser, it does look like you haven't read anything like these in a while. ;) I followed back.
DeleteThey should room together because they'll be like missfit toys? lol. Good one.
ReplyDeleteSo true! I'm not too sure about that second book. The first has been okay so far (I'm about 75% finished).
DeleteInteresting teasers, I hope you enjoy both books. Thanks for visiting!
ReplyDeleteThanks for visiting me back!
DeleteGreat Teasers! :) The second book is on my to-read list.

I'm hoping I'll enjoy reading it. I'll be over to yours.
DeleteHi Tressa,
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by Fiction Books earlier. I love 'meeting' new people, so rest assured that your visits will always be welcome and your comments always appreciated.
It sounds as though the 'she' in your first teaser lines, may be having some personal problems, which are making her a not very nice person to know right now.
I like the cover art choices for both the books, although they probably won't be making it onto my reading list. It isn't that there is anything wrong with them, it is just that I believe that the 'classic' books are described as that for a reason and I don't really agree with authors 'adapting' the storylines.
The storylines themselves sound good actually, but for goodness sake come up with some original characters!
I read in your profile that you like 'clean' reads, so I can recommend a publisher who specialises in just such books, from several different genres. I have read work by quite a few of their growing list of authors and have enjoyed them all.

Have a good week,

Thanks, Yvonne! Retellings are hit and miss with me. I don't know if you've read For Darkness Shows the Stars by Diana Peterfreund? It is a retelling of Persuasion by Jane Austen, but it is done so well! She makes the characters and plot completely her own, so it doesn't even feel like a retelling at all.
DeleteI'm almost done with A Breath of Eyre and there are some issues for me with the Jane Eyre parts that I'll be talking about in my review.
I have some books from Astrae Press, but I had forgotten about them, so thanks for the reminder. :)
I love the covers for these. I will have to check this series out. :)

DeleteGreat teasers -- I love the covers!
ReplyDeleteHere's my TEASER TUESDAYS post.
The covers are pretty. I'll come see yours...
DeleteThese teasers are adorably funny and sweet. Great covers and teasers. Thank you so much for stopping by the blog and I hope when you get to read Untouchable you like it!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Sharrice! I had an issue with my first Kindle, which it was on, and had to send it back about 11 months after I got it for a replacement. I sent Untouchable to the new one last night so that I have it now to read.
DeleteI haven't read either but I love the covers and the teasers!
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by my Tuesday Teasers post!
