Teaser Tuesdays #5

Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:
Grab your current read
• Open to a random page
• Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page

BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!

I have one teaser for you today:

Insecurity sinks its teeth in, vicious and biting.
But wait. I'm no stranger to this world-I'm acquainted with its secrets. Maybe that was only in my dreams, but I still learned things that have saved me more than once on this journey. I'm not the helpless and vulnerable little girl I was when I used to play here.
I'm not even the same girl I was when I arrived in the rabiit hole with Jeb. I'm stronger.

p. 268, Splintered (Splintered #1) by A. G. Howard

I have been dying to read this one for a while. I saw a lot of hype for it last year, I love the cover, and I've read some excellent reviews! Sometimes that's bad though, since that means I have fairly high expectations going in. Have you read this or are you planning to?

    1. It does have a fairly strong female lead, although it is somewhat of a coming of age story for her. I've been a follower of your blog for some time, so it's nice to see you here. :)

    1. I felt a little that way too. I think it's a definite read if you don't mind it being a little dark.
