Weekly Update #74/Stacking the Shelves #51

Welcome to my Weekly Update where I post my blog's schedule for the week. I'm posting a little early, but I've been working on getting things scheduled ahead as I'll be busy with family for about six days next week starting Thursday. I'll be catching up with comments the following Wednesday.

I'm linking up to The Sunday Post, hosted by Kimba @ The Caffeinated Book Reviewer and Stacking the Shelves, hosted by Tynga's Reviews.

Here's what to expect this week:

I'll be posting a review for Grave Mercy by Robin LaFevers. I waited much too long to read this one, but you know what? Now I get to read all three books together, so I guess there are good things about waiting too. :)
Grave Mercy (His Fair Assassin, #1)

I'll be reviewing and a book tour stop for Sense & Sensibility: A Latter-day Tale by Rebecca H. Jamison. This is a sweet LDS retelling of Austen's Sense and Sensibility.

Sense and Sensibility: A Latter-day Tale

I'll be posting for Waiting for Wednesday, as always. Did you see last week's WOW for Black Ice?

I'll be posting some more some reviews. I'm not sure which of these will make an appearance or if they all will. It just depends how much reading I get in. Possibilities include:
Among the JoyfulA Bridge Unbroken Magic Within Darkness Within

Friday Favorites will be up again, but I won't have time to pick a favorite. I've got a ton to do before our mini vacation and having family come visit. Although, I still always love hearing about your favorites, so please do share!

I did get some books this week. Of course I did. ;) HarperTeen released a bunch and I can never help myself, especially when several are books I'm dying to read and are already on my can't-wait-to-read list. Here they all are (from Edelweiss, NetGalley, and for review):
Remember My Heart and Other Black Holes Geek Girl Liars, Inc.
The Last Time We Say Goodbye Red Queen A Wicked Thing Everything That Makes You
Monstrous  The Winter People Not in the Script (If Only . . . #3)
Love Bites (Sugar City, #1) The Aftermath Miss Fellingham's Rebellion: A Regency Romance The Elementalists
Leaving Liberty Reign of Shadows (Descendants #3)

Have you entered by Monthly Giveaway for August yet? It's for the winner's choice of a YA or Christian Fiction book $15 USD or under. There is also a giveaway for The Practical Prepper.
The Practical Prepper: A Common-Sense Guide to Preparing for Emergencies

Did you miss any of these posts from last week?

I'm still participating in these two summer reading challenges (although I still haven't been participating very well):
2014 Summer Reading Challenge 2014 Book Blogger Summer Reading Program

I'm also looking forward to reading some more wedding-themed books (I've read two so far) for this readalong and giveaway that you guys should all check out:
Katie's Wedding Countdown

Books that I'm currently reading/coming up for review:
Dark Triumph (His Fair Assassin, #2) Mortal Heart (His Fair Assassin, #3)

(Yes, I'm still trying to get these read. I keep having to put them off.)
The Book of Life (All Souls Trilogy, #3) Midnight Thief (Midnight Thief, #1)

What do you have going on this week?

  1. I've yet to read Grave Mercy. With all the great things I've heard about it, it's been on my to-read list for a while now, but hasn't happened yet. Although like you, by the time I read it at least I'll get to read all three at once.

  2. Glad I'm not alone. ;) I'm glad that I'll be reading all three together because I'm not ready after Grave Mercy to let this storybook world go.

  9. You're so much better at resisting than I am Jen! Geek Girl has been on my list for forever, but it wasn't released in the US, then I loved Cynthia's Hallowed series and must read this one. Four of the others are reads I'm really excited about... Anyway, hopefully I'll keep reading as much as I have been and get through another hundred books. Crazy, I know. :)

  12. I know what you mean. That's why I put of LaFevers' series. The first book in that series just sucked me right in so I've had to read the rest of the books. Lol!
