My Review

This was such a fabulous book! I know I've pinned a million different looks on Pinterest, but sometimes the links are bad or the results vary. This book is a one-stop shop for braids and updo's. Each braid/hairstyle includes step-by-step instructions along with pictures. There are also a LOT of different hairstyles. I counted forty one of them. Besides those there are also sixteen basic techniques. I also liked how there are five different sections: (1) Tips, Essential Supplies & More, (2) The Basic Techniques, (3) Easy & Effortless Styles, (4) Everyday & Any Occasion Styles, and (5) Elegant Updos & Special Occasion Styles. I liked that I could look at how to do something really basic and then could also look at a style where they used a braid or two in a different way. I've always struggled a little with the Fish Braid, but now I've got it down. Some of the hairstyles don't work for my daughter or I because she has shorter hair and mine is thinner, but a lot of them did and were fun to play around with. If you need a handy, in-one-place, detailed instruction book for braiding and updo's then I would highly recommend Amazing Hairstyles! It's definitely a book I would gift as well.

  1. I definitely need something like this, I always end up just tying my kids' hair into pony tails...and I need to learn the fish braid!

  4. It was a pleasure to use, Becky, and I'm planning on continuing to use it. I've definitely been doing more with my girls' hair and my own and I love that it's thick enough and so helpful that I definitely think it's worth owning a copy and gifting. Thanks for stopping by ! :)
