My Review

ROAD TO GRETNA GREEN is another sweet historical romance novella collection in this line of books with stories that each involve the road to Gretna Green (where couples went to elope just over the English border into Scotland) in some way. Each story is enjoyable, making for an overall enjoyable collection. There is plenty of humor, a little danger, and happily-ever-after in the end.

SAVING GRACE by Lucinda Brant: I thought this story was fun with the conniving relations and plans put in place to get the two love interests together. There were some aspects that weren't completely followed through on, but otherwise an entertaining read.

FOOLS RUSH IN by Julie Daines: This story was quite a ride. It started off well, but the whole journey is frought with misfortune and spontaneous decisions. I wanted Richard to be a little bit stronger of a hero or maybe exert a little more control. Some things didn't quite make sense to me, but I still enjoyed the chemistry between the characters and the ending was marvelous.

A LADY OF SCANDAL by Heather B. Moore: This was my favorite story from this set. I loved how full the characters felt and how deep their emotions were. It takes some skill as an author to portray the characters and story in such a way in a novella without the story feeling too short or incomplete. I loved the enemies-to-lovers trope and how it was used here. I loved the characters and I pretty much loved the story from beginning to end.

In the end, was it what I wished for? This was another enjoyable collection in this line of books. I enjoyed all three stories, with the third being a favorite and one worth grabbing the collection in order to read.

Content: Some innuendo and violence, but clean.
Source: I received a complimentary copy through I Am A Reader, which did not require a positive review nor affect it in any way.
