Waiting on Wednesday: Siren's Fury by Mary Weber and Powerless by Tera Lynn Childs & Tracy Deebs

"Waiting On" Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted by Breaking the Spine, that spotlights upcoming releases that we're eagerly anticipating.

There are so many books I'm looking forward to reading this year! Here are two YA fantasy/urban fantasy books that I'm really excited to get my hands on coming out in June:

Siren's Fury (Storm Siren, #2)Siren's Fury
(The Storm Siren Trilogy #2)
by Mary Weber
YA Fantasy
Hardcover, 352 pages
June 2nd 2015 by Thomas Nelson / HarperCollins

Summary

"I thrust my hand toward the sky as my voice begs the Elemental inside me to waken and rise. But it's no use. The curse I've spent my entire life abhorring—the thing I trained so hard to control—no longer exists."

Nym has saved Faelen only to discover that Draewulf stole everything she valued. Now he’s destroyed her Elemental storm-summoning ability as well.

When Nym sneaks off with a host of delegates to Bron, Lord Myles offers her the chance for a new kind of power and the whispered hope that it may do more than simply defeat the monster she loathes. But the secrets the Bron people have kept concealed, along with the horrors Draewulf has developed, may require more than simply harnessing a darker ability.

They may require who she is.

Set against the stark metallic backdrop of the Bron kingdom, Nym is faced with the chance to change the future.

Or was that Draewulf’s plan for her all along?

Powerless
(The Hero Agenda #1)
by Tera Lynn Childs & Tracy Deebs
YA Urban Fantasy
Hardcover, 320 pages

Summary

Kenna is tired of being "normal". The only thing special about her is that she isn't special at all. Which is frustrating in a world of absolutes. Villains, like the one who killed her father, are bad. Heroes, like her mother and best friend, are good. And Kenna, unlike everyone else around her, is completely ordinary— which she hates.

She’s secretly working on an experiment that will land her a place among the Heroes, but when a Villain saves her life during a break-in at her lab, Kenna discovers there’s a whole lot of gray area when it comes to good and evil and who she can trust.. After all…not all strength comes from superpowers.

I loved Storm Siren and so am dying to find out what happens next in Siren's Fury! Tera Lynn Childs is an author I have liked from her Fins series and so I'm really looking forward to Powerless, which also sounds pretty cool. Are either of these on your can't-wait-to-read list?

Hope you can check out my WoW.

  7. The covers for both books are so pretty! I haven't read the prequel to Siren's Fury, so I can't make a peep about that at all. Powerless does sound like something I would enjoy, but I'm honestly not sure yet. I may be hesitant on reading it when it finally comes out. o_o

  9. Love these covers. I am especially fond of covers with eyes on them for some reason. I'm weird. But ever since the Tehureh Mafi Shatter Me series came out, I love eyeballs. LOL!
