Today I'm excited to share with you The Darkest Minds series in preparation for its conclusion, In the Afterlight, which will be released on October 28th! I can't wait!!!
Today Sparks Rise, a novella that connects book two, Never Fade, to In the Afterlight released today and is ONLY $0.99!! I already grabbed my copy. :)
The Darkest Minds by Alexandra Bracken was one of the first dystopians that I read and loved. I loved it because it showed how humans deal differently in extreme situations, and that humans can survive and will find ways to do so; that there can be light, laughter, and love in the darkest of circumstances. I think any story needs that balance - that there can be hope when all is lost.

Summary
Ruby can't look back. Fractured by an unbearable loss, she and the kids who survived the government's attack on Los Angeles travel north to regroup. Only Ruby can keep their highly dangerous prisoner in check. But with Clancy Gray, there's no guarantee you're fully in control, and everything comes with a price.
When the Children's League disbands, Ruby rises up as a leader and forms an unlikely allegiance with Liam's brother, Cole, who has a volatile secret of his own. There are still thousands of other Psi kids suffering in government "rehabilitation camps" all over the country. Freeing them--revealing the governments unspeakable abuses in the process--is the mission Ruby has claimed since her own escape from Thurmond, the worst camp in the country.
But not everyone is supportive of the plan Ruby and Cole craft to free the camps. As tensions rise, competing ideals threaten the mission to uncover the cause of IANN, the disease that killed most of America's children and left Ruby and others with powers the government will kill to keep contained. With the fate of a generation in their hands, there is no room for error. One wrong move could be the spark that sets the world on fire.

Summary
This New eBook Novella connects the last two novels in The Darkest Minds trilogy.
Sam didn't think things could get worse at Thurmand rehabilitation camp. Then the Reds arrive. Everyone assumed the kids with firepower had been killed years ago. Instead they were taken away, brainwashed, and returned as terrifyingly effective guards. To her horror, Sam recognizes one of them: Lucas, the one spark of light in Sam's dark childhood.
Lucas has a deadly secret--he beat the brutal training that turned his fellow Reds into mindless drones. When Sam defends herself against an attack by a vile PSF guard and faces a harrowing punishment, Lucas must risk his everything to save her.

This is another one of those series that I have been meaning to pick up for forever now. Glad to hear you are a fan of it. Maybe since the last book will be out soon I can finally get around to reading it. ;)
ReplyDeleteI would choose Blue Lily, Lily Blue :)
ReplyDeleteI absolutely love love LOVE Alex Bracken's TDM series. I just finished reading Sparks Rise last night at about 2 am and spent another hour crying my eyes out. It was beautiful. I can't wait to read ITA! That sneak peak in the back reminded me of why I love the series and how I cannot wait to hold ITA in my hands.
ReplyDeleteIf I were a teen living in that world, I'd probably want to be a Red. At first I thought, oh, Orange, like Ruby. But that ability is a lot of work and really takes a toll and I would probably shut myself off from the world if I had that power. At least with Red, I can fry someone's ass for pissing me off. Or roast marshmallows - Ha!
I probably choose Evertrue :)
ReplyDeleteThe Afterlight
ReplyDeleteAs of right now, Isla and the Happily Ever After but that could change. :)
ReplyDeleteI would pick Heir of Fire!! I've been waiting for September new releases ;)
ReplyDeleteThanks for the giveaway!!
In The Afterlight by Alexandra Bracken would be my definite choice as The Darkest Minds is my favourite series ever!!!! :D
ReplyDeleteI would pick Requiem by Lauren Oliver if i won!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the giveaway! :)
Something from the Outlander series.
ReplyDeleteI'd pick The Infinite Sea. I haven't pre-ordered it yet.
ReplyDeleteThis is just plain awesome
ReplyDeleteWhich of the five Psi groups (mind control, intelligence, electrokinesis, telekinesis, pyrokinesis) would you want to be if you lived as a teen in this dystopian world? And...mind control.
ReplyDeleteI would either choose In the Afterlight or Ruin and Rising.
ReplyDeleteGena Showalter The Queen of zombie hearts, it is a ya and it's the 3rd book, and I can not wait to read it!! Thank you so much
ReplyDeleteProbably 'Heir of Fire.' I'm definitely curious about this series as I've seen lots of gushing. ;)
ReplyDeleteIntelligence, definitely. But I have to admit, pyrokinesis would be pretty awesome too. I wouldn't complain, haha
ReplyDeleteSuch a tough decision. I am very much looking forward to In the Afterlight. I also love Isla. I'll go with the first. Thank you so much!
ReplyDeleteI think I'd pick Unhinged by AG Howard. Thanks for the chance to win!
ReplyDeleteI would pick Ignite me by Tahereh Mafi. I loved that book so much, but i don't have much money to buy all the books i want.... so i would love to win that.:)
ReplyDeleteLove the TDM series! Waited up until midnight so I could read Sparks Rise. That ending!
ReplyDeleteI'd probably want to be a Yellow, Orange, or Red. Downside to being Orange is that they tend to go crazy from the voices. Red's have the same problem, except with over heating...still tempting though.
ReplyDeleteI think I'd want to be telekinesis if possible!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the giveaway! I am not sure what to chose yet. Maybe Rain by Amanda Sun. <3
ReplyDeleteIsla and the Happily Ever After is probably what I would choose.
ReplyDeleteI would pick Heir of Fire. Thanks for the giveaway!

ReplyDeleteLove, love, love the covers for that series and how unique the stories are. I still need to read that one, which is crazy since I have the physical arc.

ReplyDeleteThat's probably the one I would choose too.
ReplyDeleteLol! Roasting marshmallows!!! I didn't think of that. I am a sucker for smores. ;) Yes, this series is so good at making me laugh, sigh, get mad, and just overall involved. Can't wait for ITA too!!!
ReplyDeleteIt gets violent, but nothing like Hunger Games, and it does have a lot of language, but it's so good and the characters and humor... Yeah. Just read it. :)
ReplyDeleteisla and the happily ever after sounds wonderful. :)
ReplyDeleteI would choose Isla and the Happily Ever After. :D

ReplyDeleteThis is the most amazing giveaway. I absolutely loved The Darkest Mind & Never Fade. I’m so excited for In the Afterlight. I would seriously love to own this series so I can have a reread before the 3rd book comes out. As for which power I’d like? That’s tough. I guess I’ll go with intelligence. ReplyDeleteWhile that mantra may have worked for Kevin Costner in "Field of Dreams," it doesn't necessarily
work for credit union websites. For example, if your food business
is dedicated to gourmet party appetizers your bio might be as simple as
