Weekly Update #117

Welcome to my Weekly Update where I post my blog's schedule for the week. I'm linking up to The Sunday Post, hosted by Kimba @ The Caffeinated Book Reviewer, as well as to Tynga's Reviews and Talk Supe for showcasing the books I added to my shelves or Kindle this week.

School is out for my kids so I've had to juggle things a little bit more, but we've been having a lot of fun too. I'm one of those moms who loves having my kids home. :) Summer has also officially arrived with temps back in the normal, which is the low 100s at this point.

Next week is crazy! I don't know quite what I was thinking. I think I must have been planning on being ahead at this point, but with everything that has happened over the past couple of months I'm just not. Add to my blog schedule some tour events with Prism and then helping my sister teach some art classes to five and six year olds... Well, wish me luck! Lol! At least I'm looking forward to everything!

Here's what to expect:

I'll also be posting a review of The Violet Hour by Brynn Chapman for her tour. I really loved Brynn's Boneseeker that I read last year and so far this one is really good.
The Violet Hour

I'll be a tour stop for Cynthia Ruchti's As Waters Gone By. I really enjoyed her book, All My Belongings, from last year as well.
As Waters Gone by

I'll be posting for Waiting on Wednesday. Did you see last week's WOW for two YA urban fantasies/fantasies? I'll also be reviewing With no Regrets by Julie N. Ford for its tour.
With No Regrets

I'll be a tour stop for The Tulip Resistance by Lynn Leatham Allen. I'm looking forward to it!
The Tulip Resistance

I'll be posting a review for the Summer in Snow Valley Collection by several authors. I'm looking forward to finding some more sweet romance to love!

I still have books I'm hoping to get finished and reviewed this week:
The Keys of the Watchmen (Watchmen Saga #1) Daughter of Deep Silence

I'm co-hosting a read-along for Silver in the Blood by Jessica Day George (who I LOVE) in July with Dena from Batch of Books. We held a read-along last fall for the Finishing School Series by Gail Carriger and had a blast! This is another book we decided we'd like to read together. The book releases on July 7th. Jessica will be stopping by as well so we can ask her some questions. I've included the linky here for anyone who is interested in joining. We wanted this up in plenty of time for everyone to join and get their books and all. We'll basically be reading a chapter or about 26 pages a day. We'd love to have you! You don't have to have a blog to participate either. Readers are definitely welcome!!

Then I'm participating in this ARC challenge for one more day. You can find out more by clicking on the button:

  4. How will you ever get through all of those ARCs? I can only do about 5 a month. I haven't heard of Cynthia Richti, so I went over to GR, and this looks really good.

    Hope you'll be stopping by

  7. I so badly want to read Rook. I am glad that you got your copy and look forward to seeing what you think of it. It looks like a big week coming up. I look forward to your post.
Now, about that read along. Interestingly enough, I was trying to decide between two different read alongs. One is for a book that I want to read badly, but want to wait until the next is released; another is for a whole series that I want to read, but don't know if I can make the commitment. So...here we are with another read along to choose from, and I say that I must have not made the commitment earlier for a reason, because I am really feeling this one. I love that you aren't dragging it out for an entire month.

  8. I'm still waiting for close to normal temps in the Midwest. We went to a baseball game last night and had to leave early because it was just too cold!

  12. Low 100s is NOTHING. Lol! Wait until it's 115. Of course it is a dry heat. I can't handle humidity at 80 degrees. So far I've been enjoying Daughter of Deep Silence. I have several books I must get read this week! Thanks, Grace!

  15. Cynthia's other book was just heartbreakingly good, so I'm looking forward to this one. I read at least three to five books a week, so that's how. Although, right now I'm terribly behind in getting through my ARCs.

  16. It sounded lovely and light and funny, which is what I wanted. :)

  17. I wish it worked that way. I'll be asking for some cool sent my way in July for sure. ;) I hope you have a great week too!

  18. Lol! I'm so glad you are joining, Suzi! I have slightly high expectations for the book. We thought about a week, but I thought that was too rushed and a month is way too long, so the two weeks just felt right. We're planning on having a blast! :D

  19. That was us a few weeks ago when a cold front moved in. I'm sure it's coming...

  20. I didn't pre-order it even though it was super high on my list, but my tour partner (Laura over at Colorimetry) really loved it and it's my kind of book so I just went with it. I have a stack of should-be-favorites waiting for me to gobble up.

  21. I'm going to read Ee's series all at once, but I have heard that it's really good.

  22. Lol! I think sometimes I must think that even though it has been proven that I am not. ;) Thank goodness it's SUMMER!

  23. I read about 4 books a week also. I just spent May digging myself out of my NetGalley pile, so I can enjoy my summer. Not that I don't enjoy the ARCs, but I like to be able to go with whatever I like once in a while.

  24. I know that feeling. I'm still pretty well piled up because I requested way too many last year and this year I didn't want to let should-be-favorites go unrequested in order to catch up. I'm planning on reading a lot this summer. :)

  25. There's hope this week! 80's on Wednesday!
